The swimwear is no more the same, what with new styles, colors, cuts and prints giving you the choice to decide what you wear. With the freedom of mix and match, you become the creator of your own style.

You also have a choice of ready to wear suits in modest to extreme versions. To name a few them like, Bikinis, String bikinis, Halter necks, Bandini, Camakini, Triangles, Tankinis, and many more. Except for the Tankini and to an extent the Bikinis which has a universal character, rest of the styles do not gel with all shapes; but can look terrific and very hot with a right kind of a figure.

The color range is a real mind blower from pastel to solid, flat to bright, leaving nothing much to add to the list, putting a Rainbow to shame. Add to this, an equally vast choice of accessories from bags to hats made of exotic materials, cover-ups, goggles, footwear and more. The icing part is a long list of embellishments to pep-up your gorgeous looks.

As for the fabric, they are made of Lycra, Spandex, Nylon and Tricot. The first two offers good resistance to the salt water, chlorinated pool water and protects from the harmful UV rays, greatly bringing down the exposure level. These two fabrics with spandex in it stretch to fit the body snugly and sensuously. The Tricot with high cotton content is best for off water activity than swimming and least allergic to skin.

With all this, no wonder the modern swimwear is a rage with swimmers and loungers.

Many reasons make the tankinis one of the best swimsuits for teenagers. The main reason is the fashion angle of it. The tankinis with the advantage of a two-piece outfit clubbed with the coverage that one can get with an one-piece bikini wins easily on other designs. The combination of the top and bottom pieces can be either complimenting or contrasting in plain colors and prints to suit individual’s need.

It is available in halter, criss-cross or a plain tank version. The tankini comes in Lycra, Spandex, or Nylon and a cotton version for those having allergic reaction for synthetic fabrics, a rare occurrence. The Lycra and Spandex with stretch character, helps in achieving a snug fit for size variations in breast comfortably and support the breasts. It hangs loose, below the bust line enabling to hide the tummy bulge and the pigmented skin, rashes etc, which no one likes to expose.

The Lycra, spandex or nylon fabric used for the tankinis repels water and dries up quickly reducing the chances of catching a cold. The stretch character of such a suit lasts longer, comfortably accommodating the fast growth of the teen girls. It does not lose color like a cotton suit does. They, also protect the wearer from the ill-effects of chlorine, seawater and importantly from UV rays from sun.

Now, a parent need not think of any alternative to a tankini for her beloved daughter, as the tankini offers all advantages one can desire in a swimwear.

Water sports like surfing and body boarding are very popular and attracting many more, particularly in the Pacific region. This article is about the surf wear, the most essential body protection wear needed in such activities.

The Pacific sea has the draw back of lower temperature, peaking at around 70 degrees, that is less by about 20 degrees of our normal body temperature. The seawater subjects our body to a lower temperature posing serious health problems and the sand particle in it creates an abrasion to the skin. This sensitizes our skin and cause itching or burning sensation. Both these can harm us and hence an advice to wear appropriate, surfwear to eliminate them.

The Pacific Ocean’s low temperatures can lead to illnesses like pneumonia and skin problems, if you expose yourself to sea water without protection. To maintain body temperature and to avoid the abrasive effects of sand particles, Surfing Wetsuit is the best bet. These suits prevent your skin from the constant rubbing of sand particles by covering the body. Otherwise, the fatal combination of a sensitized skin and the UV rays of the sun, can lead to serious consequences. The using of a Surfing wetsuit offers you a two-pronged protection by shielding you from both these effects.

In essence, a surfing wetsuit has become compulsory clothing for all water sportsmen/women. Realizing its importance and demand, many brands have displayed their wetsuits and selling them like hot cakes. Buy yourself a proper surfing wetsuit and enjoy your exciting affair with the ocean waters safely.

Monokini

Monokinis are nothing new, although the designers have made it look like a new outfit. Born in 1964, its creator Rudi Gernereich, an Austrian-American designer, invited the wrath of the orthodox society for his sin. What else can be expected of a conservative society of 1960’s? For, this was an outfit called a swimwear, having a bottom piece with a set of straps running over the shoulder wide enough to cover the nipples before hooking on to the bottom piece.

However, 3000 pieces were sold in that season, which was an unexpected, very pleasant surprise even to the creator himself. In spite of the rage of a sale, monokini did not appear in the open. They were used only in the privacy of a backyard pool. Thus, it went into hibernation for a while, until the sexual revolution in the US, by the end of the decade. Encouraged by this event, the sensational swimwear reappeared in the market to the liking of the liberated.

Egged by the acceptance, the designers flooded the markets with many versions of monokini in colors and fabrics to become a big hit and never looked back again to this day.

In the present, the monokinis have taken many shapes to suit the varying body structure and tastes. From a modest style, that covers busts to hips with minimal cuts on the sides. To the extreme style with a set of narrow strips running down from shoulders over the nipples, to hold a bottom piece that hardly covers the buttocks, leaving nothing much for imagination. The monokini is not for all. It takes a proportional physique, to look attractive in the outfit.

The modern Muslim woman, until recently had tough time going swimming, due to non-availability of a swimsuit that met with the strict religious laws for women on what and what not to wear. The Muslim laws take an extremely stringent in the matter of female attire, especially concerned about the exposure of skin. Addressing this particular demand, today there have been many brands of Muslim swimwear styles available in the market, designed to meet both the religious stipulations as well as the Muslim women’s desire for comfortable swimwear.

Thanks to Oliver Momeni, who improvised on the cumbersome outfit used earlier for swimming and brought out the ‘Burquini’. This suit provides a perfect fitting for the wearer. Made of stretch polyester having anti-chlorine and UV resistant properties, it makes a great swimsuit that can last long. The stretch property makes it easier to execute the swim strokes and remains light on the body as it will not absorb water.

The Burquini, a two-piece version has a shirt top that covers up to the neck and down to the waist. The bottom piece is a pant with additional elastic bands at the bottom end to ensure that the pants do not move up exposing the legs. The Burquini covers the whole of the body, barring the hands, feet and face. This meets with the Muslim law and provides comfortable flexibility to swim.

The material of this burquini may cause allergies to some. They are available in alternative material too. If you think you are allergic to polyester, you can go for the alternative fabric.

Micro Bikini

The two-piece bikini that appeared to the dismay of the highly orthodox society of the 60’s, has since come a long way to the micros and nanos of today. Perhaps, the only apparel considered as grown by shrinking the material content in its making.

When it arrived on the scene, it covered a fair amount of trunk, exposing only the midriff. Later on, egged by the Sex Revolution of USA, the designers got bolder to create many more designs that exposed more of a woman. Gradually the cleavage increased with deeper neck designs. Even the cover under the bust shrunk. Now with the micros and nanos on the scene, there is hardly anything of the female body covered barring the nipples and a small area at the genitals.

A version of bikini called monokini, doing rounds in the market is just an one-piece-bottom covering only the genitals, leaving the breasts fully exposed. This wear is very popular among the growing numbers of topless sunbathers.

The process of miniaturization of bikinis was never limited to the top piece. The bottom piece too started to shrink. The earlier versions of the bikini bottom that fully covered the hips started to get smaller and smaller, exposing the half moons of the wearer. Eventually, even this cover disappeared altogether in to the crevice of the buttocks. With this a woman wearing a monokini virtually looked totally nude on the back.

With this, choosing a bikini has become quite tricky and challenging. Before you buy a micro bikini or its variants, search online for more info and maximum discounts. Enjoy a happy sunbathing with your most favorite variant of the bikini.
